Although I never really knew this drummer, he's still a drummer. Jake Hanna - April 4, 1931 - Febuary 12, 2010. He died of complications of a blood disease. RIP
Buddy Rich - Channel One Suite Solo (1984 Berlin)

Buddy Rich performing a solo on Channel One Suite in 1984 in Berlin. Pretty amazing! Copyright goes to Hudson Music and Drummerworld.com. Enjoy!
Check out Neil Peart, better!
OHmygod!
He’s sos good
GOВ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When i began learning drums in the 70s, this self taught drummer was known as the world's best as he set the bar at the time with his intricate hi-hat work and speed on his solos. He inspired the likes of Ringo Starr, Roger Taylor, John Bonham and Phil Collins. He was and still is in my opinion the king of the drumkit, though Peart, Bonham and the later stratospheric innovators took it to an even higher level.
僕の中ではrichがナンバーワン尊師にあたる。ただ叩きまくるドラマーとは違い、きめ細やかなスネアを中心としたスクロールで観客を魅了するその様に感動する

The really insane thing is this was three years before he passed. The man is a true legend rest in peace buddy you are the greatest.
Just unbelievable
Saw Buddy at Ronnie Scott's in mid eighties and being right up next to him was just incredible. Stayed with me always🎉❤
It is Saturday, October 14th 2023 at 11:55 pm and I'm just learning who Buddy Rich is. Holy shit. My next week is now booked...
Ele era um genio. 🥁
If you don't love Buddy... you're not a Drummer. Non-negotiable.
best drummer I've ever seen
THE best ever .. God bless you Buddy 😘
Every Drum solo was ALWAYS something completely different. Truly the GREATEST EVER .....
The band seems terrified of what might come next
my lord 3:33 to ~ 3:43 is soooo sick. Those snare sixteenths that lead to the crash... beautiful.
I was laughing out of pure joy throughout this entire thing.

I'm 1st TPT, second from Buddy's left. Our Jazz Tpt player from the USA (Paul Philips) had to unexpectedly return to the U.S. that fall and it was easier to get replacements from the U.K. as the Bari Sax player Jay Craig (orig. from Scotland) had worked with many of the top young trumpeters there and rec. 3 different players (Simon Gardner/BERLIN’Nov84, John Thirkell/PRAGUE’Oct84, Steve Sidwell) to do 2 weeks each for the remainder of that tour. John was particularly happy to see this post (Czech 1984), as there was previously no audio or video evidence of the time he was with the band.”
Jamais vai aparecer um baterista igual a Buddy Rich.
He was just a big jerk. You can’t be the best drummer and a huge jerk and expect other drummers who are just as good but not a jerk to not look down on you. I know I could stand on my own in a room with buddy rich. I think it’s time we start challenging the idea of his greatness. Tv convinced a whole generation that he was the best when it’s simply not true. Tupac wasn’t the best rapper, buddy rich wasn’t the best drummer. Thomas Lang puts him to shame with technical ability and rudiments.
No he doesn't.
Buddy was incredible as a soloist, but equally great as a band leader - yes he was considered a PITA at times, but the guy always delivered an outstanding performance. 👏
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Buddy was playing a Paiste ride cymbal in this video.
3:46 fired for smirking during a solo.
Never ever will there be a drummer of this magnitude just the name buddy rich launches one million stars that continue to enthrall every one
The only man I know who could make a set of drums talk, Mr BUDDY RICH. 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁, the GOAT BY FAR.
3:14 - the look of a man who knows he’s 50x better than the second best player on the planet (whoever that was at the time) …
......collared shirt and sweater ? I might of chose something a little less hot to wear.
THIS IS BEYOND RETARTED TO TO PRISTEEN LEVEL OF DUMB. GENIUS
UNLESS U ADMIT HE WAS BEYOND. TAKE UP STAMP COLLECTING
Unmatched greatness!! The GOAT!!!
When Buddy gets in the zone, he's unstoppable! Greatest drummer ever!!
I like how Buddy Rich is staring at his bandmate and his bandmate is staring back😂
I wonder if it was a bit like the story about Josef Stalin telling the guards to shoot the first person to stop clapping after his speeches 😵
Buddy pushed the limits of drumming and His singles were blazing fast there will never be another buddy rich but there are tributes to him
a cry of honour integrity power truth expression
Io ledo biasci l'ho conosciuto a NY 84 ci ho parlato tramite al tempo il mio maestro Sam julano
Never gets old 😍

¡¡Good Heavens!! Imagine trying to survive a staring contest with Buddy Rich while he's playing...
This is angel of death by slayer by the end lol
All the musicians watching in amazement the maestro at his best
Best ever
Buddy wasn't just the best drummer that ever lived he was a true showmanship
Not only did he play a great solo, but he won a staring contest with young Javier Bardem.
Buddy 👍👍👍❤
Master of masters !
Imagine sitting that close to one of the greatest technical drummers that ever lived!
TO JAMES DRYMAN: "One of the greatest technical drummers who ever lived"?? Just whom do you think the "others" are?
If he had the chance to go against the energizer bunny my money is on Buddy 🥁
